Ceremonial Hall of the National Library “Ilija M. Petrović” in Požarevac hosted the students of the older grades of primary schools with the aim of activating their environmental awareness and guiding them towards eco-activism. YAEDA in cooperation with the city of Požarevac, and within the project “Bulky waste – sustainable horizons”, tried to educate young people about what is bulky waste, what types of waste exist and what are the ecological, health and aesthetic consequences of its improper disposal delays. Young people had the opportunity to express their opinion regarding this topic and to make suggestions for solving the problem of illegal landfills and disposal of bulky waste. One of the possible solutions to the issue of disposal of bulky waste is the newly formed Facebook group, within which the citizens of Požarevac will be able to exchange their bulky waste and thus provide their furniture, white goods or any other electrical devices with a new use value. The role of young people is to raise environmental awareness in their family or neighborhood and to point out the possibilities offered by the Facebook group “Don’t throw away – don’t throw away”.
