The kick-off meeting of our new Erasmus+ project “AI and Media Literacy” was successfully held in Požarevac. On this occasion, we had the great pleasure of welcoming our partner schools from Italy and Portugal and officially starting our joint work on a project that connects two highly relevant topics in contemporary education: artificial intelligence and media literacy.

During the meeting, the partners discussed the main goals of the project, agreed on the work plan, and defined the key phases and responsibilities for the upcoming period. Special attention was given to the development of the project’s main result — a practical AI and Media Literacy Toolkit for teachers. The toolkit will be designed to support educators in using artificial intelligence in teaching in a safe, responsible, creative, and ethical way.

The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas about the challenges that digital technologies bring to schools today. Together, we discussed how education can help students better understand media content, recognize misinformation, use AI tools critically, and develop responsible digital habits.

This project represents an important step towards strengthening digital competences in education, encouraging critical thinking among students, and building stronger international cooperation between schools and educational organizations.

In addition to the working sessions, one afternoon was dedicated to introducing our guests to Požarevac and its cultural and historical heritage.

We are looking forward to the next project activities and to meeting our partners again in Italy in September.
