In the primary schools in Žabari and Aleksandrovac, the Film Eco-Festival “Broom” project started. More than 60 seventh and eighth grade students participated in the workshops. In the first part, students tried to define the biggest challenges they face in protecting their environment. Then they went through basic training on filmmaking (types of shots, plans, composition, artistic elements, technical characteristics), as well as training on the aesthetics of short documentary and feature film forms. They had the opportunity to apply what they had learned in a short film exercise, and then they moved on to creating a script for their first film. The students divided the roles into groups (director, cinematographer, editor and actors) and by the end of the workshop they had devised a script for a film that would deal with one of the environmental topics they had previously defined, which concern problems in their environment. For the next 13 days, the students will shoot and edit their first ecological film, and then they will have the opportunity to show their creations at the Eco-festival, where the best will receive the “Golden Broom” award in different categories.
