Today in Žabari, at the “Dude Jović” Elementary School, the first workshop was held as part of the Lie Detector project, which our organization implements with the local media BOOM93, supported by Sweden within the program of the Belgrade Open School “Youth and Media for Democratic Development”.
Eighth grade students had the opportunity to participate in an interactive workshop on media literacy, which, in addition to the educational part, also had a practical part. The students applied the skills of distinguishing between real and fake news, information and misinformation by creating fake media content themselves and thus showing that they understand technology and the harmful impact of fake news, misinformation and media manipulation. In addition to the students, two teachers of this school are also trained to continue these workshops as part of their civic education classes.
